Cindy Scott (aka Sundray Tucker) unleashes her beautiful voice at Patshull Park Golf Country Club in Wolverhampton, England, on July 16, 2000, to the delight of all who attended the live concert. With a few exceptions, the repertoire doesn't differ much from her first studio album on Driving Wheel Records, The Loving Country, but hearing them live is a plus. She gets everything from her lyrics, and her deliveries are textbook. Vera Carey and Serena Howard, plus accomplished musical backing, are Scott's partners in pleasure on the 11 songs. Opening with Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson's Remember Me, she segues into Moving on Up before bringing the house down with a turbo launching of Stevie Wonder's Signed, Sealed and Delivered, whom she sang with as Sundray Tucker (check out Ordinary Pain from Songs in the Key of Life). Her softer side blossoms on the pensive Is It Possible, a moody tune brighten by Scott's sensitive reading. Vera Carey takes the microphone and belts out a cracking rendition of Martha the Vandellas' Heatwave. Carey's alto is no joke; she belts out Holland-Dozier-Holland's classic as if it was her new single. She takes the show out stylishly with a polished version of Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly With His Song and crowd-pleasing performances of Otis Redding's I've Been Loving You Too Long, Gladys Knight the Pips' If I Were Your Woman, and the Jackson 5's Never Can Say Goodbye. The production is so crisp it's almost like a studio recording, which sort of takes away from the CD's live agenda; not as much as some recordings, however, where you debate whether the tracks were done before a live audience or not.
