Biography
Gator Creek was a California-spawned band who existed primarily as a studio unit, their membership consisting almost entirely of session musicians. Included among the latter were guitarist Mike Deasy, his wife Kathie Deasy (vocals, percussion), bassist Ray Neapolitan, Nick Ceroli on drums, and Dee Barton (who also wrote many of the songs in their repertory) playing keyboards -- among those members just starting out at the time were Michael Omartian on keyboards, and Kenny Loggins on guitar. They recorded one self-titled album for Mercury Records, released in 1970, and broke up in or around 1970 without making much of a splash, though it is clear that there was something significant there, based on the busy careers subsequently enjoyed by seemingly every member of the group. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
