Biography
Guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Keith Henderson's best-known work is the Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew's Superbowl Shuffle, a 1986 million-seller that hit number four R&B. Released by Chicago's Red Label Records, the single featured Chicago Bears members Walter Sweetness Payton, Willie Gaunt, Mike Singletary, Jim McMahon, Otis Wilson, Steve Fuller, Mike Richardson, Richard Dent, Gary Fencik, and William Refrigerator Perry. Henderson performed all of the music and sang the chant "We are the Bears!" The 45 was released in fall of 1985 as the football team was on its way to becoming the1986 Superbowl champions. Henderson contributed to the Emotions; he co-wrote the title track to their 1977 Columbia LP Rejoice and contributed Sincerly and You Know I'm the One to their 1984 Red Label album Sincerly. An in-demand session player on the Chicago jingles scene, Henderson continued recording sides for groups such as the Next Movement. ~ Ed Hogan, Rovi
