Lorri Ham, who goes by her married name, Hafer, was born into the music industry. The only child of singer Mary Mayo and musician, songwriter, and producer Al Ham, Hafer was destined to sing. Her career started at the tender age of five when she performed as a guest vocalist on Guy Mitchell's If You Ever Go Away. Throughout her childhood and teen years, she studied music and worked in commercials.

During her teen years, Hafer joined her mother, Mary Mayo, as a member of the Hillside Singers. In 1971, Hafer recorded the lead vocal for the Hillside Singers' runaway hit I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing. After the group ended, she attended London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and in the mid-'80s was asked to join the Glenn Miller Orchestra for their world tour.

In 1981 she met husband Mike Hafer. In addition to their live performances, the pair has released several albums and made numerous media appearances. The duo is also part of the Music of Your Life Trio. ~ Ashleigh Kittle, Rovi
