A large jazz ensemble, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) were formed in 2002 by trumpeter/composer Irvin Mayfield. Centered around the goal of preserving the culture, history, and music of New Orleans jazz, NOJO are a nonprofit organization and have partnered with both the University of New Orleans and Tulane University for various educational and academic programs.
