Biography
With her Texas drawl and straight-from-the-soil sensibilities, Delia Bell has helped to preserve the singing styles of the American West. Singing with Oklahoma's "grand old man of bluegrass," Bill Grant, since 1959, Bell continues to reverberate the sounds of Americana through her performances and recordings. Bell and Grant reached their apex, during the 1980s, when they recorded three memorable albums for the Rounder label that featured musical accompaniment and vocal harmonies by members of the Johnson Mountain Boys, dobro ace Roger Williams, and Del and Jerry McCoury. Tunes from the three albums were collected on the best-of album Dreaming in 1989. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
