Biography
A stylish, hard-hitting American rock band based out of New York City, Mother Feather's fiery blend of sharp '90s alt-rock, glam punk, and vintage rock & roll invokes names like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, New York Dolls, the Raveonettes, the Struts, and T. Rex. Founded in 2009 by powerhouse vocalist Ann Courtney, the group also features the talents of keyboardist and vocalist Elizabeth Carena, bassist Matt Basile, guitarist Chris Foley, and drummer Gunnar Olsen. Taking their name from a botched expletive, Mother Feather issued an eponymous independent EP in 2011, followed by a second EP, Living Breathing, in 2013. The following year saw the band ink a deal with Metal Blade and begin work on its first full-length outing. The resulting gritty and bombastic Mother Feather dropped in early 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
