Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, on March 28, 1936, Zdenek Sverák is best known as an actor and writer. His works include screenplays for such critically acclaimed films as #Kolja and #Obenca Skola (The Elementary School), as well as hundreds of books, musical works, and other films. He was also a radio personality during the years of Communist-controlled Czechoslovakia, and in 1966 founded the Theater of Jara Cimrman. A 2007 CD collaboration with Jaroslav Uhlír entitled 20 Let Pisnicek z Poradu Hodina Zpevu was a solid success in the Czech Republic, peaking at number three.
