Latin rock band from Mexico Sonios was formed in 1992, mostly influenced by the British alternative scene. During the 1990s, the band had the opportunity to play along with major local numbers such as Café Tacuba, La Lupita, and Santa Sabina. After issuing a self-titled EP, focused on social and environmental issues, Sonios recorded its debut album, called 200 Fonios, in 1997, released by independent label Nimboestatic in April of 1998.
