Best-known for the 1990 single Wiggle It, for a brief time 2 in a Room was one of the most popular hybrids of hip-hop and dance music. The group was the brainchild of rapper/singer/songwriter/producer Rafael Dose Vargas; singles such as Do What You Want and the full-length debut Wiggle It earned Vargas widespread airplay and some critical acclaim. After collaborating with rapper Elvin Floodlight Ovalles, 2 in a Room released the singles El Trago (The Drink) and Ahora (Now), as well as the 1995 album World Party and the 1996 single Carnival; while these releases had some success, they didn't match up to the group's earlier efforts, and they disbanded awhile later. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
