Biography
Brunswick studied with Boulanger and was associated with a group of Viennese musicians that included Webern. He taught at several colleges before becoming chairman of the music department at the City College of New York. His music is intense and straightforward and is written with the linear polyphony of 16th century compositions. Brunswick wrote his own verse for many of his vocal pieces. He also often used ancient Greek poetry for this purpose. ~ Lynn Vought, Rovi
