Derek Dek Fearnley was bassist in the Buzz, the group that backed David Bowie live for most of his 1966 live shows, and also supported him on a couple of singles that year. The Buzz and David Bowie split in December 1966, but the Buzz did do some sessions with him for Bowie's debut album in early 1967, and Fearnley had the strongest role of any Buzz member, as he also helped with arrangements.
