Luís Perrone was a renowned conductor and trombonist. In his orchestras
worked Heitor Villa-Lobos himself, among other famous musicians. In his
short life, Perrone made important contributions to the history of silent
movies in Brazil, as he was the first to write music especially for films.
Before this, the music accompanying the movies had nothing to do with them.
Around 1914, he began conducting Rio's most reputed cinema orchestras, such
as Pathe's and Odeon's. ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
