Mauro Jarvela has been a major inspiration on aspiring Finnish fiddle players since the early-1960s. A former member of Finnish fiddle band, Kankaan Pelimannit, Jarvela has been a member of JPP, a top-ranked Finnish folk band featuring his nephew, Arto, also on fiddle, since 1984.
