Furnace
from Jamaica
Biography
Jamaican dancehall artist Furnace delivers sexual and violent lyrics in a gruff singjay style. Debuting in 2012, he broke out in 2020 as part of Popcaan's Unruly Camp.
Furnace got his start in 2012 on the 4.5 Riddim compilation with "Wah More Me fi Do" before releasing a string of singles ranging from the sexually explicit "Short Shorts" (2015) and "All Alone" (2016) to the gangsta-themed "Sklenga Thing" and "Violence" in 2019. In 2020 he was revealed as a member of Popcaan's Unruly Camp alongside Quada, Frahcess One, Valiant, Louie V, and Dane Ray. He appeared with Popcaan on the 2020 single "Rich Symptom" and the following year's collaborative Solid Focus Riddim EP, featuring Zamunda, which saw the Unruly Camp diverge from their usual violent lyrics to a softer, more melodic, more conscious approach. ~ John D.
