Barbara Fasano
Biography
Long Island native Barbara Fasano has earned acclaim during her career for her cabaret styled shows. Having grown up in New York, Fasano attended Hofstra University, graduating with a degree in theatre. She spent a number of years traveling and living abroad, including three years in Australia where she acted, taught theatre, and co-produced the ARIAs music industry award show. Returning to the States, Fasano relocated to Los Angeles and began to sing cabaret, developing her own show in the genre, as well as landing work in both film and television. In 2000, she released The Girls Of Summer, an album based on her successful cabaret show of the same name. Featuring her interpretations of songs by a diverse slate of writers that included Stephen Sondheim, Bruce Springsteen, Irving Berlin, and Cyndi Lauper, The Girls Of Summer was well-received with some of the strongest praise coming from the Village Voice. ~ Tom Demalon, Rovi
