The Frays
Biography
The Frays were notable as an early group association for Mike Patto, prior to his association with Timebox and his solo career, although his involvement with the group is more rumor than hard fact. The band, such as it was, cut a pair of singles for English Decca in 1965, including a cover of Hang on Sloopy featuring Nicky Hopkins at the piano that failed to chart. Their best recorded work, however, was the B-side of their debut, Keep Me Covered, which is regarded as something of a mid-'60s British R&B classic. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
