Biography
Boom Tic Boom is a forward-thinking jazz outfit led by drummer Allison Miller. The group first grabbed audiences with its eponymous debut, Boom Tic Boom, in 2010.
Based in New York, Allison Miller's Boom Tic Boom first came together in 2010, and centers on a handful of regulars including pianist Myra Melford, violinist Jenny Scheinman, and bassist Todd Sickafoose. Over the years, the ensemble has also included such luminaries as trumpeters Steven Bernstein and Ara Anderson, and cellist Erik Friedlander. They debuted in 2010 with a self-titled effort, followed by 2013's No Morphine No Lilies. In 2016, Miller released her third full-length album with Boom Tic Boom, Otis Was a Polar Bear, featuring appearances by cornetist Kirk Knuffke and clarinetist Ben Goldberg.
