Biography
Although the well-known and well-liked Dutch alternative rock act Kane went through some major roster shake-ups in their career, the core of the group, Dinand Woesthoff (vocals) and Dennis van Leeuwen (guitar), remained true to their goals, and were able to achieve great success. Formed in The Hague, Netherlands in 1998, Kane released their first single, Where Do I Go Now, in August of 1999. The single broke through to the Top 30 on the Dutch charts, and Kane's successful streak of hit singles was off and running. The band would release a number of albums over the years (As Long as You Want This -- 2000, With or Without You -- 2000, So Glad You Made It -- 2001, What If -- 2003, February -- 2004, and Fearless -- 2005), most of which would find their way to the Top Five. The band also won a number of Edison Awards, as well as an MTV Europe award for Best Dutch Band. One of their biggest singles, Rain Down on Me, was remixed by DJ Tiësto in 2004. ~ Chris True, Rovi
