Formed in Perth, Australia, HWLS is the style-melding electronic duo of Ta-ku and Kit Pop. Sharing a love of bass music, the already established solo producers signed with the Future Classic label in 2014 and quietly released the HWLS EP later that year. A diverse, industrial-leaning club set, it appeared with plain gray-and-text artwork and tracks titled "001" through "004." As they continued to experiment with influences, the pair followed it with a number of remixes, including tunes by Hermitude, Tokimonsta, and Death Grips.
