Biography
Irish singer and actress Andrea Corr was perhaps best known as the lead singer of the Corrs, a Celtic pop group that enjoyed popularity throughout the late '90s and early 2000s. But when the Corrs took a break in 2006 (as several of the members cited a desire to have more time with their respective families), Corr struck out on her own with her first solo effort, Ten Feet High. Executive produced by Bono and released in 2007, the album featured 11 songs written by Corr in addition to Squeeze's Take Me I'm Yours. The disc found her turning away from the breezy, folky fare of the Corrs and adopting a comparatively darker, edgier dance-pop sound. Corr's sophomore effort relied exclusively on cover songs from such notable artists as Lou Reed, Nick Drake, and John Lennon. Lifelines was released on May 29, 2011. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
