Biography
A male-female duo, Don Gardner & Dee Dee Ford reached the charts in 1962 with "I Need Your Loving," a Top 20 hit in the mold of Ike Tina Turner. Gardner had formed a Philadelphia group called the Sonotones in 1952, but teamed up with Ford ten years later. After the success of "I Need Your Loving," several records followed before Gardner turned his attention toward jazz and management of Philadelphia's Clef Club. He died in September 2018 at the age of 87. ~ Jim Worbois, Rovi
