Biography
Harmonizing country-pop duo Scott Whitehead and Ron Kingery formed Hometown News in 1996 at a local songwriters night in Nashville. Kingery had been splitting his time between writing children's songs and engineering albums for the likes of Roy Clark, while Whitehead had spent the last eight years in the Navy piloting an F/A-18 Hornet at home and abroad, and more recently as a staff writer for the Acuff-Rose publishing company. Their self-released debut, Wheels, was released in 2002. Their eponymous sophomore record was released in 2005. The duo's fluid and succinct vocals have drawn comparisons to the Everly Brothers and Simon Garfunkel. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
