Biography
A hip-hop drifter and master rap raconteur (and paragon of patience), Playboy Tre (born Clarence Montgomery III) built his rep slowly within the fertile Atlanta scene. His first shot on wax came on the 1998 compilation So So Bass Def All-Stars, Vol. 3 as Y.B.M.. While his quick wit earned him swift respect, Tre seemed content to bide his time and hone his craft, doing behind-the-scenes work and guest spots with YoungBloodz, Bohagon (with whom he formed the group Georgia Durt), and B.o.B. By 2009, Tre was ready to truly assert himself as a hip-hop voice with the mixtape Good Bye America: Tales of a Drunk Loner, a well-reviewed and clever, countrified throwback to the early days of crunk. ~ Jason Thurston, Rovi
