Biography
Considered one of the best samba interpreters of all times despite a limited discography and an early demise at 19, Vassourinha debuted as singer at Rádio Record (São Paulo SP) in 1935, forming a duo with Isaura Garcia. In the same year he acted in the film #Fazendo Fita. In 1941, he moved to Rio de Janeiro RJ, where he recorded the six albums of his career at Columbia, and performed at the Rádio Clube do Brasil. His earliest hits were Juraci (Antônio Almeida/Ciro de Souza) and Seu Libório (João de Barro/Alberto Ribeiro).
