Assembled by Dominican producers Ramón Cordero and Martires de León in 1998, Monchy Alexandra comprises Ramón Rijo (aka Monchy) (born in La Romana in 1977) and Alexandra Cabrera de la Cruz (aka Alexandra) (born in Santo Domingo in 1978). A successful international tour followed their first hit, Hoja en Blanco.
