Biography
Mr. Tumble is a fictional clown created by British children's TV entertainer Justin Fletcher. Mr. Tumble's first appearance came as part of Fletcher's BBC children's show Something Special, which started airing in 2003 and was originally aimed at children with learning difficulties; Fletcher also presented the show using Makaton, a form of sign language. Becoming a hugely popular character on the show, Mr. Tumble resonated not only with Something Special's pre-school audience but also their parents. By 2009 Mr. Tumble had become so ingrained in British culture that Fletcher would become a huge draw on the live circuit as Mr. Tumble, including a regular slot at Rob da Bank's family-friendly festival Camp Bestival each year. In 2016 Fletcher released the album Mr. Tumble's Christmas Party, which featured a selection of Christmas classics sung by Fletcher as various characters from Something Special. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
