Born in 1998, Kate was classically trained in piano from age five, although it wasn't until 2011 that she left her hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida to go to Atlanta to join an all-girl group, kickstarting her career. However, the group failed to gain any traction, prompting Kate to appear on The X-Factor, where she failed to make it past boot camp. Undeterred, she appeared on the first season of Rising Star, where she placed ninth and gained a small following. She moved to Los Angeles in 2015, where she scored a viral hit with a cover of Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" alongside Kurt Hugo Schneider. After performing at a music conference in 2016, she was approached by Flo Rida, who signed her on to tour with him as backing singer. They parted ways after a couple of years, with Kate wishing to pursue a solo career; she signed to Tribeca Music Group and EMPIRE in 2018 to get the ball rolling. Her debut EP, Cry for Help, arrived in 2020. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
