Margarita's career started in 1998 in Rio Grande Valley, TX. The artist debuted with a self-titled album after EMI signed her up. That record included Margarita's first hit single Te Juro. In 1999, the singer was awarded for being the Rising Star Female at the 19th Tejano Music Awards.
