A sludge-drone-doom metal project from Philadelphia, Otesanek formed in 2001, releasing a demo, one full-length, and a pair of split long-players before calling it a day in 2008. Similar in sound to such established sludge merchants as Sunn 0))) and Boris, Otesanek released a demo in 2002 before landing a deal with Battle Kommand Records. Their debut album, Otesanek, saw light of day in 2004, but the band was to hold off any further releases until 2007's split LP with Coffins. Otesanek's next move, a 2008 split release entitled Four Burials, would prove to be their last. ~ Chris True, Rovi
