Born on November 5, 1960 in Amsterdam, Dutch vocalist René Froger broke through in 1988 with the hit single "Winter in America" from the album Who Dares Wins. He hit it big again the following year with "Alles kan een mens gelukkig maken (Een eigen huis)," cementing his status as a bona fide regional superstar.
