The eponymous 1999 EP by heavy metal group the Swarm reunited three former members of Bay Area thrash sensations Death Angel -- these being singer Mark Osegueda, guitarist Rob Cavestany, and drummer Andy Galeon -- alongside bassist Michael Isaiah. An album was duly recorded and a tour with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell took place two years later. But then unexpected circumstances (specifically, a benefit concert for cancer-stricken friend Chuck Billy of Testament) would set into motion a Death Angel reunion made flesh three years later, which led to the Swarm being shelved indefinitely. Luckily, the band's Beyond the End LP was eventually given a European release by Mausoleum Records in 2003. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
