The Baquet family of New Orleans was the source of enough clarinet players to fill out a big band section. Hal Baquet, while one of them, seems to be lacking in the impressive credits his father Theogene Baquet and brothers George and Achille Baquet have on tap. But Hal Baquet was the victim of a lethal stabbing attack, at one point blamed on pianist, composer and publisher Clarence Williams. Williams was later acquitted.
