Mike Clink
Biography
As an underling at L.A.'s famed Record Plant studio Mike Clink learned the ropes of hard rock production from the masters. All this proved to be crucial when, in 1987 and after a series of failed attempts, a young band named Guns N' Roses asked Clink to produce their debut album Appetite For Destruction. Several million copies later both Clink and the band found themselves at the top of their respective industries. Channeling the unruly GNR's energy into a cohesive, landmark album was no easy task and because of it Clink is regarded as a man who knows how to get the best results from the acts he works for. Clink is also known to choose his projects carefully and, rather than take on every big name act that has been offered to him, he has carved out a smaller, but credible, portfolio of production credits. Those credits include, Megadeth's Rust in Peace (arguably speed metal's finest hour), GNR's Use Your Illusion and I mother Earth's Dig. ~ Steve Kurutz, Rovi
