Biography
Pianist Giacomo Scinardo won numerous awards early in his career and has built on the promise he showed, attaining an international career. He was signed to the Sony Classical label and released his first album there in 2019.

Scinardo was born December 27, 1983, in the Sicilian city of Paternò and has continued to live in nearby Catania. He numbered several famous pianists among his teachers, including Philippe Entremont and Leslie Howard. As a young pianist, he won more than 20 competitions in Italy and abroad. Scinardo has concertized widely as a recitalist, in Asia, Russia, and the U.S. as well as in Europe. His appearances have taken him to such halls as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Siam Ratchada Auditorium in Bangkok, Thailand. Scinardo's concerto appearances have included those with the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra in Romania. He has appeared at the Samuel Barber International Festival in Pennsylvania and the Bangkok International Piano Festival. In demand as an educator, Scinardo has given master classes at the University of Michigan School of Music, the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow, and the University of Bangkok. He released well-reviewed albums on the Dynamic label in the late 2010s, one covering the complete piano music of Modest Mussorgsky and the other devoted to Erik Satie. In 2019, he moved to Naxos, issuing an album of the four piano sonatas of composer Bechara El-Khoury, along with shorter El-Khoury works. Later that year, he was signed to Sony Classical and released the first in a complete cycle of Muzio Clementi's 110 piano sonatas. ~ James Manheim, Rovi
