Biography
Italian DJ/remixer/producer Claudio Coccoluto (aka Coccodance) began playing music for fun in 1980. Captivated by experimentation and the electronic synth dance-pop known as house, the newcomer in the local club/dance scene became a professional after issuing his first remixes. In 1997, Claudio Coccoluto launched his own independent label called The Dub and his own recording studios to start working on different projects such as the remix of Tito Puente's classic "Oye Como Va," Adamski's "Take Me Away," and ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's "Mi Chico Latino." In addition, his live performances were acclaimed worldwide while appearing at New York's Sound Factory, London's Ministry of Sound, and Paris' Queen, among other prestigious clubs. Claudio Coccoluto died on March 2, 2021, after battling illness for a year; he was 59 years old. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
