Georgeson grew up in Nevada City, California and attended Mills College in the early 2000s. While at Mills, he played in surly rock band the Pleased with Joanna Newsom, and went on to produce Newsom's 2004 solo debut, The Milk-Eyed Mender. Throughout the 2000s, Georgeson worked behind the scenes with various acts in the burgeoning freak folk movement, serving as a producer, mixing engineer, session player, or stage musician for records and shows from Newsom, Vetiver, Devendra Banhart, Mason Jennings, and others. In 2006 Georgeson released his solo debut, Find Shelter, a set of orchestral folk songs marked by his low voice and off-kilter songwriting style. He also produced Bert Jansch's 2006 album The Black Swan and the sole record from Little Joy, a late-2000s supergroup consisting of Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, Los Hermanos, Rodrigo Amarante, and Binki Shapiro. His studio work continued throughout the next decade, and included work with Cate Le Bon, Lou Rhodes, Natalia Lafourcade, Chadwick Stokes and many others. In addition to his studio work, Georgeson kept a consistent role in Banhart's live band. In 2021, Banhart and Georgeson collaborated on the new age-toned ambient album Refuge. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
