Jamie Hodge (aka Born Under a Rhyming Planet) grew up in Chicago, picking up technology from a computer store job and buying records from the many dance shops in the city. After his mother bought him some recording equipment, Hodge soon gained a contract from Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label, thanks in part to Hodge's phone call to Hawtin telling him that one of his tracks sucked.
