Herbert Vianna
Biography
In 1982 Brazilian singer/guitarist Herbert Vianna joined bassist Bi Ribeiro and drummer Vital Dias, later replaced by Joâo Barone to assemble a rock band called Os Paralamas Do Sucesso aka Paralamas. Soon after the reggae/ska-inflected outfit became a local top-selling number. His solo career began in 1992 with the release of E Batumare followed by 1997's Santorini Blues recorded in Los Angeles, CA and 2000's O Som Do Sim featuring contributions from Cássia Eller, Sandra de Sá and Marcos Valle. In addition, Herbert Vianna produced records performed by the Brazilian punk ensemble Plebe Rude.
In September, 2002 his album El Largo Camino marked his return to the Brazilian pop scene. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
