Biography
A Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, For Today released their first album, Ekklesia, in 2008. Signed to Facedown Records, For Today -- formed in 2005 and made up of Mattie Montgomery (vocals), Ryan Leitru (guitar), Mike Reynolds (guitar), Brandon Leitru (bass), and David Morrison (drums) -- spent the lion's share of their first couple of years together paying their dues on the live circuit. With an album to promote in 2008, the band had a long year of touring and gigs planned. After their debut, they continued to be productive, releasing their follow-up, Portraits, in 2008. Their third album, 2010's Breaker, became their first to reach the overall album charts, and 2012's Immortal, For Today's debut on Razor Tie, did even better, breaking into the Top 20. Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire guested on their fifth album, 2014's Fight the Silence. In 2015 they replaced rhythm guitarist Samuel Penner with Jim Hughes of the band Colossus. Signing with Nuclear Blast Records, they released their sixth album, Wake, in October of that year. ~ Chris True, Rovi
