Biography
Formed in 1969 by George Dean, Robert Dean, and John Whitmore, the Gospel Four (aka G4) are a contemporary gospel group from Memphis, Tennessee. While the lineup has changed over the years (Robert Dean died in 1980), George Dean continued to lead the actively touring group well into the late 2010s. Their earlier recordings were issued on Southern independent labels such as D-Vine, Messenger, EJ, and MCG. During the early 2010s, they began an association with Memphis' Ecko label and added to their discography with full-length titles such as Back to the Basics Again (2014) and Get My Business Straight (2017). ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
