Along with frequent recording partner T.E.C., Demarcus Davis, aka Maine Musik, is one of Baton Rouge, Louisiana's emergent artists of the late 2010s. A combative rapper inspired by the likes of Soulja Slim and Boosie Badazz, Davis received a couple major boosts in 2015 as part of Master P's Money Mafia and through a sustained affiliation with the No Limit Forever label that yielded the solo track "Social Media Gangsta." In 2016, Davis was arrested on multiple firearms-related charges, but he and T.E.C. released their first mixtape as a duo, Spider Nation, shortly thereafter. The pair followed it in 2017 with Retaliation. Davis also had the headlining tapes Maine Musik 4.0 and Maine Musik 5.0 out by the end of that year, and followed them with 5.56 in 2018.
