Fool's Gold Records hosted the 2015 debut Malaa single, "Pregnant," immediately after which Tchami's Confession label became the supplier of roughly a dozen Malaa singles and EPs across 2016 and 2017. Among Malaa's most popular releases during this period were "Notorious" and the Tchami collaboration "Prophecy," while the artist also began to accumulate remix credits, highlighted by his commissioned work on Skrillex and Diplo's Jack Ü track "Mind." Maala released the project's Illegal Mixtape and Illegal Mixtape II, respectively, in 2017 and 2018, and during the latter year, he and Tchami went on the No Redemption Tour, promoted with a compilation of the same title that contained exclusive remixes. Malaa's 2019 releases included the high-energy singles "Revolt" (featuring Jacknife) and "Criminals" (featuring Rezz), and he, Tchami, and fellow Pardon My French member Mercer also assisted DJ Snake with "Made in France." Several additional singles led to the 2022 release of Malaa's first proper album. Titled Don Malaa, the LP boasted collaborations with rappers Ghostface Killah, Fivio Foreign, and Jadakiss. DJ Snake and A-Trak also provided assistance on a track each. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
