Biography
Magic Carpet II are basically a reunited version of Magic Carpet, an obscure British folk-rock-raga band that released a rare, self-titled LP in the early 1970s (now available on CD). In 1996, their guitarist and vocalist, Alisha Sufit, and their sitarist/tambourist, Clem Alford, put out Once Moor under the Magic Carpet II moniker, with assistance from two musicians who were not in the original Magic Carpet. Once Moor, nonetheless, is very much like the Magic Carpet album from twenty-five years before, although the balance is tilted slightly away from ragas and toward Sufit's songwriting and singing, which remains virtually unchanged from the early 1970s. Both Sufit and Alford have also put out solo recordings. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
