Biography
Composer/arranger Paul Frith has had a broad career, from contributions to albums by the xx and Radiohead to documentary soundtracks, however, he is best known for his close work with indie folk group Bear's Den.

Frith's relationship with Bear's Den goes back to their debut album, 2014's Islands, going on to appear on their subsequent albums 2016's Red Earth Pouring Rain and 2019's So That You Might Hear Me. In between working with the band, he weaved in various other projects, including composing Iskra String Quartet's 2015 album Iskra. He was commissioned to work on the soundtrack for BBC Horizon's Antarctica: Ice Station Rescue in 2017, the same year that he worked on the xx's I See You. The following year, Frith played a one-off show where he deconstructed the work of Bear's Den, rearranging it to be performed with a classical pianist and a string ensemble; the band were so impressed by his reinterpretations that they explored the idea further with him in the studio, leading to a full release of reimagined songs on 2020's Fragments. Earlier the same year, he had worked with Dan Croll on his 2020 album Grand Plan. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
