F.M. Smith
Biography
Since relocating to Chicago from New Jersey, guitarist and singer/songwriter F.M. Smith has penned gentle yet powerful acoustic compositions, mixing jazz, folk, and soul. Influenced by such artists as Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, and Michael Hedges, Smith's lone album, 1998's Red Guitar, reflects these aforementioned artists. The album also included contributions from guitarist Rob Bonaccorsi (a former member of the Freddy Jones Band), who also toured with Smith in support of the album. Smith is a two-time recipient of the American Billboard Songwriter's Contest Award, has lent his vocal talents to TV ads for Air Jamaica, and supplied musical scores for the DeBoer/Haller Company's educational videos. ~ Greg Prato, Rovi
