Biography
Despite the encouragement and support of Al Browne, a producer and disc jockey for Newark, NJ-based radio station WHBI, the Deltairs failed to follow up on their 1957 hit Lullaby of the Bells, recorded with the accompaniment of Browne and his orchestra. Although they released two singles, Standing at the Altar and Who Would Have Thought, in 1958, neither charted and the five women separated.

Formed in Jamaica, Queens, NY, the Deltairs showcased the lead vocals of Barbara Thompson, backed by the soulful harmonies of Barbara Lee, Carol Stansbury, Thelma Stansbury, and Shirley Taylor. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
