The Keen

Biography
Started in the summer of 1997, the Keen came together after singer Jesse wrote a 10-track tape and sold it to many of his friends under that name. Eventually they made their way across the indie scene and sparked an interest in the group, which led to the formation of the band with his friend Matt. The two had been friends for years, and after playing a few songs they realized they should perform some tracks from Jesse's tape. The two greatly enjoyed the jam and soon became the Keen as a duo. Drafting in their friend Dave on bass, the trio solidified the lineup and began playing out live. After a few more tapes that gained greater and greater recognition and a few untimely geographical relocations, they finally put together Double Dutch and Birdhouse Surprise in 2002. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
