Tigo B
Biography
Tigo B is the alias of Monty Faulkner, a rapper and occasional singer whose range is reflected in his track titles, from "Ball Hard" to "Black in America." A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, he arrived at the tail-end of the 2000s with "Ooh Wee," one of his many collaborations with Ricco Barrino. The track was among the cuts featured on Times Up (2010), his first mixtape, hosted by DJ E Sudd. Later releases demonstrated the MC's comfort over trap beats, dusty soul samples, and pulsing slow jam productions. Amid numerous singles as a lead artist and tracks on which he was featured, his output included Return of the Artist (2013), Rise: A Gemini Story (2014), The Preylude EP (2015), and Playa Trap (2016). ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
