The sounds of southern rock and blues were imported into Italy by Rovena-based quintet, Dog Soldier. Led by the father and son combination of guitarist Bruno Brak Rosetti and drummer Igor Rosetti, the group brings a unique European twist to the songs of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatcher and the Allman Brothers Band. They took top honors at a cover band competition at Italy's #Max Cover Festival in March 2001.

Dog Soldier has experienced numerous personnel changes since its inception in 1998. Only the senior Rosetti remains from the original group. Current lead vocalist Sergio Gigio Deggiovaanni, guitarist Leonardo Dallo Dall'olio and bassist gabriele Liverani previously worked with such Italian rock bands as Soundblast, Unable and Sotterranei.

Brak Rosetti and Liverani also play, along with ex-Dog Soldier drummer Settimio Smec Garavini in a Jimi Hendrix tribute band, Ezy Rider. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
